Something I myself have been guilty of and I'm not proud of it.

I'd never lead someone on if I knew there was no chance anything would happen, but I still resist even when we'd probably hit it off.

None of my relationships ended on bad terms, but we always ended up drifting apart rather quickly, until we rarely spoke or saw each other. It's essentially like losing a friend, and that's what I'd like to avoid. So much so that I'd rather stay friends than risk it.

It sounds stupid when I see it written out like that.
