That's so stupid and such a waste of a good character. It's even more insulting that Luke and Leia's force ghosts literally show up after he dies and act. Like jesus, wtf were guys doing the whole time? Why did you wait for your son/nephew to die before acting? the whole movie is stupid and insulting to the fanbase - if the leaks are true, which I am positive they are. Plus: SPOILER: Click to show She not only coopts the accomplishments of the last two generations of Skywalker, she appropriates their name, despite not even BEING a Skywalker!

This trilogy very loosely has the theme of "you choose who you are, your past doesn't define you" it's a shame they didn't do a better job with that theme though.

The movie also has very serious pacing issues and by that I mean it feels like a bunch of scenes are randomly slapped together because it is moving so damn fast until the film gears up for the final confrontation. This upset me because it didn't give enough time for emotional moments to actually be emotional. It's an okay film, but a terrible Star Wars film, maybe the worst because of the implications it leaves. I'm utterly concerned about the fact that Palpatine SPOILER: Click to show doesn't have the lightning burns on his face. This means that either he is a clone or the Palpatine from the PT and Original Trilogy is the clone, or they forgot make-up which I wouldn't put passed them at this point. I absolutely hate they fact that they don't even mention how Palpatine is back, at all. I am left doubting that J.J. Abrams has actually seen a Star Wars film.

I'm pretty sure the next set of films they are doing are going to be a series of KOTOR films, actually, and I'm scared they are going to fuck those up really hard. KOTOR films have been heavily rumored to be in the works for a long time, and with the Episode 9 Visual Dictionary bringing Revan back in to canon, the reintroduction of Malachor V in Rebels, and the (supposed, didn't notice it but the camrip was a bit grainy at times) Darth Nihilus statue that appeared in Episode 9 I feel like they are teasing it pretty hard.

Smith's casting is supposedly a holdover from an earlier version of the script, in which the Son of Mortis from the clone wars was the villain and Smith played him. Scrapped in favour of Palps because Disney didn't think audiences would know who he was.
