BLM are just a bunch of petulant childish cunts, what if someone had to go through that bridge in an Ambulance? Well too fucking bad. Our protest is more important than your life. That kid could've been in a critical condition. Honestly if I was president I'd crack down on them so fucking hard, I'd snap that fucking bridge. Peaceful demonstrations are okay. When people's lives are in danger then it becomes an issue. Fucking selfish cunts. Our PM here offered to let them also join in a gay pride parade and they said they'd only go if there was no police there Yeah, cause a parade that has our PM is really going to do that So random but somewhat relevant story. I had a native friend who's sister was using tumblr a few years back. She noticed this BLM movement and she was a bit frustrated because at how many issues were currently in our country for natives, particularly the woman and how little attention it got (this has improved a great deal over the last couple years but here it was quite bad for a while, I'd say far, FAR worse then the treatments blacks got in my country overall from what I've seen) so she made an All Lives Matter post talking about how we needed to raise more awareness for other ethnic groups. HUGE MISTAKE Next thing she knew her tumblr was bombarded with hate from BLM people. I remember her showing me some of the comments she got from people calling her "A white piece of shit that was just trying to take away attention from their cause" and others who would send her messages like "Go kill yourself" She quickly deleted her tumblr and as far as I know never bothered going back to the site. It's interesting to me because she never once attacked or even really mentioned the BLM group. She just found it frustrating that something which at the time needed attention as well wasn't getting it despite seeing this movement for other groups rights. I've always found it interesting how often you see rights groups attacking each other out of this sense that their can't be different inequalities that exist all over the place. As I said in a previous post in a different thread that not all issues are equal but that doesn't mean you can't see the inequality that exists in both and that in many cases it comes down to context. Often when I talk to these rights movements that are mainly US based they're incapable of understanding the rest of the world doesn't operate like the US and you get these insanely generalized PoVs that utterly fall on their ass when applied to certain other countries. Like talk to a guns activist for example and they're completely incapable of understanding there are other countries that have much stricter gun laws that statistically are FAR safer then in the US. I see lots of videos like the one in this OP and it highlights that there is a serious issue right now, particularly in the US but it exists in other places as well and this is something we need to address, but at the same time your see the sheer amount of baggage connected to the BLM label and it's staggering, and unfortunately it's not just confined to tumblr. Then again this is an issue I have with identifying with a lot of activist social kind of groups. Some people think you should just ignore that baggage and they write it off as not being part of the group, but these same people are usually are the first to demonize entire other groups for the same kind of vocal/extreme minority. Anyways that's just my random spiel for the night.
