Once you see it's not such a scary thing and it's just two naked people bumping each other and making funny noises the whole experience isn't that special or intimidating any more.

You may lose that romantic side, that 'ideal' first time. And if you're patient enough to wait, then by all means do so.

People want/need different things from sex and relationships in general.

 For me, the other big challenge with socializing in general is... I'm highly introverted, and really do not find interest or enjoyment in doing it.
