There is also Forest Whitaker's character who is a cameo from The Clone Wars TV-series. Remember the guy from Onderon who alongside his sister was trained by Skywalker and Ahsoka to fighting the CIS? That's him. He gets a big mention in one episode of Rebels. There's also the whole stick about the "Kyber" Crystals being used to develop weapons which is another piece of lore introduced in those cartoons. Although KOTOR did this long before either of it.

No one is arguing otherwise. The film is lacking the usual rich character development and story of other Star Wars films. All of it has gone the Final Fantasy/BioWare route and basically relegated as plot material for tie-in novels and stuff.

I'm pretty sure Chris isn't counting the prequels.

I heard Chopper was in it, but didn't see him. Hera isn't actually in it, but a 'General Syndulla' is mentioned over the comms. They wanted to put the Ghost crew in the film as cameos but couldn't agree on how to do it, so they just gave them indirect mentions. I wouldn't let it stop you from watching a good film, they aren't noticeable at all. Also, if you don't want to watch films with Rebels cameos, then you probably shouldn't watch Episode 6 anymore (I kid). Dave Filoni keeps talking about retconning this guy into Clone Trooper Rex:

They actually liftet Whithaker's character from the canned Live Action tv show. The cartoon writers grabbed the character before the rogue one writers did it.

Just got back from watching it its very good film and does a good job of tying in with "A New Hope" and I'd be more than happy to watch it again. My major critic of it has to be the lack of character development with Jyn Erso being the only character who gets any sort of development.

Giving it a 7/10. The last 20 minutes were very good. Especially that bit with Vader. The battle involving the rebel ships was very well done too.
Jyn Erso I thought was a very good lead, and not the Mary-Sue Rey was.

The poor bits were...the supporting cast. Not fleshed out in any way. I didn't care what happened to them at all.

Another side note is the ending. That bit with Leia. Given how it played out, her explanation to Vader in episode 4 is so implausable now it is almost a cringe. "We are on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan". Yeah.....good luck with that dumb explanation.
