I plan on purchasing a Model 1873 Springfield. It is cheap, old enough to be labeled an antique, and I can actually purchase ammo for it at a relatively cheap price. Thats a really good fun gun, just be aware of the fact that due its construction it cannot withstand heavy 45-70 loads, I'd not recommend shooting commercial ammo through it. Best ask the gun shop about it. In a worst case scenario, I have an Uncle in the next state over who has the materials for me to make my own ammo. When it comes to commercial rounds, I heard that you'd only need to check what type of powder is in the bullet. Then again, I am new to the whole gun thing.
