I pretty sure firearms is the least messy thing over here.

Mind you, I have no issues with people owning weapons for self-defence, sport or when their jobs require it. The thing that USA has to get rid of isn't guns, it's the shoot-first-ask-never mentality that makes so many people so stupidly quick to use those guns they have. Everyone has a gun, everyone assumes the other guy has a gun, so people think to prevent harm if things escalate they got to be the first to draw, so everyone is quick to draw and by the time someone's pointing a gun at someone, the safety goes off so to speak. And the police can't try to de-escalate because they also have to assume the same thing, which ends in a stupid circulatory mentality that people need guns to defend themselves from people with guns.

Guns are made to kill and they do kill (so obviously people shouldn't be allowed to just own any sort of gun to make it easy to kill people if they ever feel like it, minimize the potential damage), but it's still the people that pull the trigger and it's those that need to get their asses kicked straight. Dispense some common sense.

That's about as much as I feel qualified to say.

It also doesn't look like it's legal under any circumstances to own one at all in my state, which sounds about right.

If guns are made to kill I'm an idiot because I use mine incorrectly, and so do the hundreds of thousands of people who buy a gun each year .
If you think guns are made to kill you simply copy paste the opinion of those who have neither experience nor knowledge about the subject ''gun'' therefore your opinion has little value.

There are guns specifically made for hunting, would you say that a 25.000$ elephant gun was designed to kill people? Or a Remington 1858 replica revolver?  There are so many kinds of guns built for so many different purposes saying ''guns are designed to kill'' is a ridiculous statement. 

Yes yes, I should've known better to enter a gun enthusiast discussion and expect common sense, or apparently just a modicum of reading comprehension.

Let me just get my visa and I'll go to Russia, maybe grab an AK a Makarov and some ammo for those whilst I'm there.

There shouldn't be a need to do that though, the right to bear arms is an unalienable right granted by the founding constitution of the nation.

I am not talking about removing guns, nor was he. He was talking about changing the shoot first mindset if an argument breaks out. I would rather die then give up my firearms.
