I must say that I was a bit skeptical when Disney bought Lucasfilm. I thought we were gonna get some sort of Disneyed-out product. After seeing TFA, I pretty much felt that it was a good thing that Disney took Lucasfilm off of George Lucas's hands. Best thing that could've happened since, at that point, Lucas was just cynically exploiting Star Wars w/ his shitty re-edits of the original trilogy, and just tarnishing the franchise. Maybe out of naïveté or wishful thinking, I somehow thought that Disney would only do a sequel trilogy, a few TV series, and maybe at most, reboot the prequels (possibly the next best thing they could do for the franchise, if they can get J.J. the Redeemer to do it). This will NOT happen in our lifetimes. 100% guaranteed Well, they rebooted the Spider-Man franchise when it really didn't have to be—other than to make money—but if anything needed to be rebooted, b/c you know, it was actually bad, it would be the Star Wars prequels. Maybe there's just not enough hype for that at the time, but that's what marketing is for. Maybe there's fear that this could open up the possibility of rebooting the original trilogy, but that would be sacrilege.
