Since when is a diverse cast of characters a bad thing? It gives the writers far more to work with than seven white dudes raised in suburban Massachusetts if they want to give interesting personalities. Where did I say it was a bad thing, exactly? And this is Star Wars. I takes place nowhere near Earth at all. If they want diversity they have hundreds of alien races to pick from. Wookies, Bothans + + + + . Various alien races should be more interesting to flesh out than humans, in any case. What they are doing here is just being PC for the sake of the moviegoers. A diverse cast is superb. But this cast isn't diverse at all. 1 race out of a hundred races (in the star wars universe) is represented. I think KingTony might have assumed that, what you perceived as being PC was bad since you have some misgivings w/ the cast of characters. To be honest, I didn't think it was being PC until you mentioned it. You've now tainted me, I cannot unthink it now.
