Sim. Reading Watchmen. This is good news in my book.

Man I read a loooot of comics and these panels are some of the most powerful things I've laid my eyes on. God damn choked me the fuck up.



Taking my sweet ass time with Watchmen cos it's so packed with detail that I can't help but look at everything before the next panel.

And also cos my sweet ass has been broken for a while, not letting me sit/lie.

Still standing and typing like a trooper.

I'm still bitter about a lot of the stuff from the book the movie never touched on. Still love it but yeah that's a ranting point for me. X3

Marvel's Runaways

Now that was a very close to my heart series growing up. Believeable teen characters in a comic you felt you could actually identify with? Dun dun duuuuun!

But I used to access all my comics by whatever happened to be at the tiny little library down at the bottom of my street (yes they had comics).

And that meant taking whatever was there at the time. As such, and the same with many other series, I read the series through pretty incomplete. Don't believe I ever saw how it ended.

Buuuuuut the Hulu TV adaptation coming out reminded me it existed! Conveniently whilst comixology was having a pretty great black friday sale. So I got the whole run for just shy of £30 (What gives with Hulu making shows though, there is literally no legal way to watch the adaptation in the UK because we don't have Hulu! Christ on a cracker, really nothing cheeses my onions like region restrictions that stupid but uggggh I digress)

Anyway, its good, and extra so cos I never actually got the first volume and had to kind of pick up how it all started from later issues back when I was young, so this is ideal and I'm having a lot of half nostalgic, half brand new fun.

I mean, one of the characters superhero name's is 'Lucy in the Sky'. Its the perfect comic.

I'm not very far into it, but so far so good.

It's VERY different from the Martian though.  More of a science-fiction caper story than a survival one.

So since I can't read for fun for a while, does anybody have top tier shit to recommend? Like I'm looking at stuff that will clench your soul, uhhh, ASOIAF quality stuff, not just a good laugh/pulp/fun.

Just so once I'm done with uni I can read some good books this summer that involve good stories cos I've been neglecting that side of my life for a while.
