Changing show runners, changing the cast and changing the team is what Dr Who does best.
Classic Who did this all the time. New Who is no different in this respect.

Writers write the kind of stories that they think are interesting.
Not all episodes of Dr Who are going to be a hit.

If it is lore integrity. No that was lost years ago.
Long before "New Who" came along and shook things up.
There is so much lore in the Dr Who universe that lore inconsistency are highly likely.

If you have a problem with the Doctor being female, then that isn't a lore inconsistency.
When Time Lords regenerate they can be either sex. I don't have a problem with this.
I only care about good story telling. If the writers can give us interesting stories with fantastic well developed characters, then I'm happy.
Of course what one's standard of a good story is going to vary from person to person.

I can't think of any occasions when Dr Who was "raped". There have been some good episodes and bad episodes.
