While I'm being a total hypocrite with my 6 firearms, 4 of which are military grade assault weapons (one is a selective fire assault rifle that I personally modified to have more than a single-fire capability, and the other is civilian variant of the M-14, and it's fully equipped as a military DMR). I find it hard to be a credible liberal advocating gun control when I have enough arms and experience to easily wage a one-man war with a small-town sheriff's department.

Usually people that spout "I'm a gun owner, and I support more gun control!" on the news every once in awhile are the types that own like, one shotgun that they occasionally use for pheasant, and that's it. (Not a load of high end guns like yourself.) They're referred to as Fudds. They have the "Well, I don't own any of those, so I don't care if they're banned." outlook on things.

They may not care if AR-15s are banned, but what happens when their high-powered sniper rifles bolt action rifles or assault shotguns semi-auto shotguns are on the chopping block? Or slapped in the dick with beyond-retarded restrictions like in most other countries? They'd probably be pretty bent out of shape. I know I would.

The actress Sharon Stone is an avid gun owner and she supports severe measures for gun control / bans. Usually those are the people that think they're so rich and powerful that they're untouchable and when a ban happens they're one of the few left who own guns.
A power trip and feeling of superiority gainst the common folks that is. 

If you meet a gun owner who is is flirting with the ideas of gun bans better take a few steps back, chances are they're insane in the membrane. 


And banning guns one by one, is the old ''cook the frog'' tactic. Throw a frog into a pot of boiling water and he will jump out. Put him in a pot of cold water and slowly heat it and at best he'll complain a little bit about the heat every now and then, eventuality he'll be cooked. 
Most AK's have been banned by the oh-so convenient Ukraine-Russia crisis, AR15s are on the verge of a ban. Of course the the most iconic guns is what the fanatics go for first.

Another week in this thread, and I'm getting into reloading, I swear.


I'll have to get some photos of my 870.  It's a Wingmaster, but the previous owner got rid of the beautiful wood, and went with some black plastic stuff and a big ass mag tube extension. It holds like, 9+1 no, I think.  I'll have to check, I don't get my shotguns out much, simply be cause I don't hunt, and I can't use shot at the range, only slugs. Slugs are only fun in small quantities.

I've got a cool old shotgun from the 40s I'll get photos of as well.  It was manufactured pre-1968 gun control act, so it doesn't have a serial, only manufacturing stamps that tate it around 1948. 

It's a J.C. Higgins model 20, a pump shotgun sold by Sears back when they weren't pansies. Its finish is rough all over, both the bluing and finish on the stock are well worn. I kinda like it that way, though. Bet it was an old hunter's gun, judging by the signs of wear and tear. It's had a hard life.
