What would you say were the good\bad parts of Pillars? And how would you rate it? From 1-10. Try playing some old rpgs for 10 days. Never a bad thing. Ultima 7, for example. Good: Character customization that matters. People will react to you based on race, background, and reputation (as word of your deeds spreads, people will develop preconceived notions about you) These, as well as stats, will also open up new dialogue options which are not always "I win" buttons (I had a dragon attack me after taking a dialogue option unlocked by Intelligence) Also, the storyline is both dark and intelligent. It's not a "True Art is Angsty" or HBO-like over the top sex, blood, and gore (being an isometric game, it can't really show that much, though some scenes are still rather...descriptive) But the storyline plays well into the Adult Fear trope Bad: The followers, while they interject a lot (good) and have personal quests (also good) don't really impact the story. This is probably because players have the option to solo the game (there's an achievement for that) or create their own NPCs. When the option to play Baldur's Gate-style or Icewind Dale style meet, something has to be sacrificed. Also, the twist towards the end was, imo, a bit of a cop-out. If further games don't expand on it and it really is that cut-and-dried, I will be sorely disappointed. Edit: You know, I haven't played X-Com 2 with the DLC installed. Maybe I'll try that... I hope you don't mean Alien Hunters, that DLC was terrible and made me want to shake a programmer. Having enemies that can move and attack outside their turn in a turn-based game with perma-death, good lord. May the RNG gods have mercy on your soul! I'm really hoping for an Enemy Within level of DLC/expansion, but I don't think that we'll get it.
