Yep, apparently there's no criticism that can be leveled at anything anymore that isn't centered around racism, sexism or homophobia. Doesn't matter if you didn't even mention anything related to those things, they know that's the REAL reason you criticized something.

Same reason they act like the only reason people dislike the movie is sexism: they're lazy, uncreative and can't be bothered. Why come up with an original idea when you can just piggy back off the name of a successful franchise? Why bother addressing the criticism people actually have for the movie when you can just strawman the shit out of them and write it off as sexism?

But compared to this Avatar was a fucking brilliant movie......

The CG is passable. I'm not expecting highly detailed ghosts here. Sony doesn't exactly have that much money lying around for its failing film studio (The Shallows and it's Shartopus level CG shark comes to mind)

It's not going to match up to the OG Ghostbusters, which had this sort of janky movement to the Ghosts that looked just unnatural enough. Which works for ghosts and otherworldly beings. That can't be replicated. However. The Art direction is just lazy. There's a dumb dragon, Slimer, The Logo, and glowing blue people.

We can say Cartoon Esthetic, but the Cartoon had better art direction for the ghosts. They had Shoggoths for crying out loud.

Slimer looks like shit no matter the version.

Shove the spud into into the trap and move on.

I still watch the occasional Real Ghostbusters episode.
