Yes. Sony succeeded. This whole movies marketing is based on an "Us against them" mentality promoted by stupid media execs and overly zealous feminists.
The more controversy that arises, the more press the movie gets in an infinite loop of bullshit. Obviously Sony is going to fan the flames. Same with Bill Murray, and everyone that wants to suck Sony's tiny "barely trucking along as a film studio" cock.
This movies gonna be an awkward Adam Sandler-esque mess, and it will make bank. That thing Sony has been desperate for since Spider-Man 3.
