Those people are a bit over the top imo. I own one pistol and it's mostly because my neighborhood is pretty rough with drug dealings, robberies, etc. It's saved my life more than a few times just by the person realizing I have a weapon in my hand, but some people fail to realize when it not necessary to discharge a weapon.
Also, fun fact, more people are killed by blunt force trauma and stab wounds than just about anything else. When it comes to murder that is.

Well, what do you expect. Respiratory illness kills a lot more people than murder, and superbugs kill a lot more people than terrorism, but for whatever reason, gun violence and terrorism are more fashionable to worry about than air pollution and antibiotic abuse.

They're probably the least responsible gun owners out there, and, for the most part, own a gun b/c they think it's cool, or maybe they think they'll be like John McClain or Martin Riggs when the shit hits he fan, i.e, they'll be like heroes who will save the day. However, I have no problem w/ people who may need them for self-defense, or b/c they're hunters or hunters.

Say, wasn't there a case in the US where a crazy guy killed a bunch of people w/ a katana in a supermarket? He at least decapitated one person, I think. aye hella scared tbh

NRA is what it is -- a powerful entity that buys power from our government. Respect the player, hate the game... and the game is our system of government and voters.

Owning a gun makes sense for home-protection. I could understand concealed-carry in some instances, but I tend to disagree with it.

That being said, there is no excuse for not doing background-checks or not limiting sales on deadlier weapons. There is plenty of evidence out there to support these policies as effective. Even if you are not going to catch everyone, you are still going to save lives, so that alone makes it worthwhile. And you know, I was raised with pretty orthodox religious beliefs, but kudos to those in the media for slamming the right-wing for their faith-based responses ("Praying for ___," "God help ___"). God isn't fixing this. Take action, you imbeciles. These people are content to go nuclear on a group of people for their religious beliefs (saying it is a threat to the constitution, never mind that very document allows all to practice their faith within legal parameters, so who is the threat here exactly?), but when it is a matter of guns... watch as they become the three monkeys.
