That's all very good and all, but owning a gun b/c you think you're gonna need to use it against the government seems like the dumbest reason to own a gun, especially since functioning governments have a monopoly on force and power. Basically, what good is owning an AR-15 when a drone can turn you into pink dust? It seems that most of those kinds of people that stockpile guns, specifically the people who actually think that the government is coming for their guns (hence the spike in gun sales after every mass shooting by paranoid people), are buying guns to protect the guns, as it were. Those people are a bit over the top imo. I own one pistol and it's mostly because my neighborhood is pretty rough with drug dealings, robberies, etc. It's saved my life more than a few times just by the person realizing I have a weapon in my hand, but some people fail to realize when it not necessary to discharge a weapon. Also, fun fact, more people are killed by blunt force trauma and stab wounds than just about anything else. When it comes to murder that is. They're probably the least responsible gun owners out there, and, for the most part, own a gun b/c they think it's cool, or maybe they think they'll be like John McClain or Martin Riggs when the shit hits he fan, i.e, they'll be like heroes who will save the day. However, I have no problem w/ people who may need them for self-defense, or b/c they're hunters or hunters. Sounds like Japan right there, lol. Those wooden practice swords can easily break bones; nevermind when some guy busts out a katana and starts turning people into sashimi. Say, wasn't there a case in the US where a crazy guy killed a bunch of people w/ a katana in a supermarket? He at least decapitated one person, I think. aye hella scared tbh
