The problem isn't guns, it's people who are psychopaths that don't understand the value of life. Just to put it out there, but saying all gun owners will use them to kill someone is like saying everyone who drinks is a woman beater. It's a generalization that a lot of people don't seem to grasp. However, I do think they need to make it harder to own a gun via very extensive background checks and mental tests. Also give people a hefty fine/time in prison for owning a gun that is not registered and legal. But I mean, if you're against guns and believe the government should just take them away, then you're actually very pro gun because they're in the hands of only the people in power. To the oh so honest people that rule our nation. That's all very good and all, but owning a gun b/c you think you're gonna need to use it against the government seems like the dumbest reason to own a gun, especially since functioning governments have a monopoly on force and power. Basically, what good is owning an AR-15 when a drone can turn you into pink dust? It seems that most of those kinds of people that stockpile guns, specifically the people who actually think that the government is coming for their guns (hence the spike in gun sales after every mass shooting by paranoid people), are buying guns to protect the guns, as it were. Well, not exactly, a lot of those prepper types believe that they're going to need their guns to protect their canned tomatoes from non-preppers after the national debt destroys the economy, or something.
