Batman killing people is nothing new.

If you are going to give Batman the "no killing" moral code then you need to justify it. Nolan films did this well. However his Batman still killed people.
I don't mind Batman being a killer.
Given the kind of people he's up against (i.e. mass murdering criminal masterminds who keep escaping from prison), killing seems like the logical thing to do.
Batman is a logically driven character. It makes sense.

Ben Affleck's take on Batman should remain a killer, unless there is a compelling reason for the change of heart.
Besides it would be interesting to see a backstory for Batfleck where Batman is initially someone who doesn't kill.
Then he goes through a very challenging set of circumstances that causes him to question his moral code. That could be an interesting concept for a Batman solo film.

Also Batman being a murderer is not contrary to the comics.

Saw it. Doesn't solve the underlying issues the movie has but it's better than the theater cut.

There's an interesting parallel between the BVS' argument against allowing Superman to live, and Mass Effect universe's decision to allow the Catalyst or Reapers to survive. "He has the power to wipe out the entire human race. If we believe there is even a 1% chance that he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty."

The Catalyst had a somewhat higher than 1% chance of killing the entire human race.  And had demonstrated beyond all doubt that it was, in fact our enemy.
