I actually had a similar thought this day, contemplating the trailer again. Especially while thinking about "Who is the cloaked figure kneeling with the Royal Guard" nearby?

Jyn Erso...Jan Ors? Or, and now I am so deep in weird specualtion-theory but why not: Jyn Erso not Jan Ors, but ... Mara Jade? (re-imagined?)

What if Jyn Erso is NOT what we are supposed to believe: That lonely petty criminal orphan recruited by chance by the rebels, but she is imperial from the start? Special Agent ("Hand") of the Emperor. Her job: Infiltrate the rebels, to locate their hidden base...so she would be the one kneeling there, getting her orders from Vader or the Emperor?

In the course of the movie she could either turn rebel (its Disney after all ^^) and join hte nice guys, making sure the plans are the real ones ending up on Leia's ship, or whatever she does is revelaed to be some elaborate plan all along by the Emperor, which sadly backfired over Yavin 4 when Luke showed up...a wee bit unrealistic though that they would have the plans fall willingly in Rebel hands (especially twice as they do the similar thing later with the Bothans and the trap over Endor) - but who knows...

And - to pick up on the Mara Jade thing: Episode 8 hits theatres and Luke finally reveals..."Rey, ... your mother ... she was a servant of the Dark Side, struggled with it though, just as you now do. She was ... the Emperors Hand, though I did not know this when I first met her ... and ... fell in love with her. This is her, Rey...her name was Jyn Erso. And Snoke ...killed her..."

Ah, all far fetched, but if anything comes true of that at least I'll have proof here written down I knew it! Ha! ^^ Great to have Star Wars to talk about again!

Well if he did that the entire start of A New Hope would be ruined. Of course, if the double agent theory is true Jyn would likely get the plans, deliver them to Leia, and in comes Vader with the "save" and implicating the Senate in the rebellion.

I look forward to hearing Mads' whacky accent, unlike his brother, he's never been great at hiding it.

I think Snoke got his scars from Luke's lightsaber, after he turned Kylo. There seems to have been some sort of conflict there.

For those of you arguing that having "too many aliens" will make the film less appealing, let me point you to Guardians of The Galaxy.

Only one human in the main cast. This film had a talking tree and a talking raccoon plus two human like aliens (who are obviously actors covered in paint).
This film was a success. This was not because or in-spite of aliens. However the point I am making is that having aliens in your film will not make the film a box office failure.

My theory: Snoke is Plageuis.

The reason the hologram is so HUGE is to hide this fact, as the "face" of Snoke is a corpse who is literally being used as a puppet, a macabre marionette by Plagueis. He is behind the body, and that IS his voice in episode 7. In one of the next two saga films, he will drop the dead body & step into the light. Darth Plagueis is too similar to Snoke and there are too many coincidences for this to not be the case

I don't think it would make a movie "less appealing" so much as more expensive.

I mean even something as relatively simply as giving an actor a paint job (such as Drax or Gamora)  takes hours of careful prep work.  CGI characters (like Rocket and Groot) also require a boatload of technical work to come alive.  Guardians of the Galaxy was hugely successful, yes.  But there's a reason the primary protagonist (as well as the entire Nova Corps) was "indistinguishable from human" .  And it was still a financial risk.

Fortunately with advances in technology this is getting cheaper and easier, and movies like GotG show that such movies can be financially viable.  So perhaps in the future we'll see Star Wars movies starring a twi'lek, or a zabrak, or a cathar.  

I wouldn't hold out hope on an ithorian, though.
