I haven't read the books, so I have no real idea what Stannis was like. I've been told that Stannis is a cool dude in the novels, and that in the show, he was made to look like an ass, or say, a Stannass? Anyways, why all the hostility towards the fans of a dead character on the show? You've been told wrong. Stannis fanboys have a very idealized view of the character that doesn't add up with what's actually there, and show Stannis doesn't deviate nearly as much from book Stannis as they'd have you believe. He's still Melisandre's puppet who performs human sacrifices, assassinates his own brother (and another character cut from the show) with shadow magic, and attempts to have his bastard nephew sacrificed (who is a child in the books btw). I actually suggest you read the books and see for yourself what kind of guy "Stannis the Mannis" really is, because you won't hear it from Master Warder Z, Rawgrim, or any of the other fanboys from here, Westeros.org, or any other GoT related forums and threads. And the reason I'm "hostile" to them is because Stannis fanboys have a propensity turning threads and comment sections into big book purist circle jerks, preventing any kind of actual, interesting discussions about the show beyond its adaptation of their dear Stannis (and general "books > show" bullshit) from taking place.
