Carson was a idol of the black community. He came from a poor background and managed to become a neurosurgeon. He did some amazing things as a neurosurgeon. Finding out about Carson's kooky, hard right beliefs is like finding out that Bill Cosby is a serial rapist. So... Carson loses all credibility, sponsorship, professional respect, and appearances pending an ongoing investigation that is increasingly damning to his viewpoint? I strongly dislike Carson (and any Republican candidate for that matter), but comparing him to Bill Cosby is pretty damning in and of itself... unless, you're twisting irony on dear Doctor Ben for his capacity to label groups he doesn't like as Nazi's, Communists, and anywhere/everywhere in between? In which case... Carry on. I think that when Carson compares Obamacare to slavery, then he does lose credibility, though maybe he's just doing so to pander to the tea baggers. Either way, this is the discourse of fringe candidates on the right (or consider Huckabee's remarks on the Iran deal, that Obama is marching Israelis into the oven, which is possibly worse than anything Carson ever said) is really not doing anyone any good. Carson has a talent for hyperbole and invoking Godwin's law. As for the Cosby comparison, well, let's just say that both these men were probably revered by much of the black community (one of them has even been awarded the Medal of Freedom) until you find out more about these people. Needless to say, it is a let down. The only difference is that Cosby is probably universally despised across all race groups. In the meantime, Ben Carson is being embraced by many white conservatives—most of whom probably support him so they can brag to their liberal extended family members during Thanksgiving about how they're not racist b/c they support Carson. Interestingly enough, It's likely that Bill Cosby was liked by conservatives, if only b/c he told young black people to pull up their pants, lol.
