Oct 5, 2015 10:37:17 GMT -6 via mobile Post by Deleted on Oct 5, 2015 10:37:17 GMT -6 I was on another gaming forum for an MMO when a player asked whether there was any homosexual characters in the lore and proceeded to explain that he wanted to know how sexuality was handled in the game for roleplaying reasons. I saw it as a legitimate lore question but waves of people started freaking out at him with comments that he shouldn't "push his political views on the game" and about how "people wouldn't mind homosexuality if they didn't keep calling attention to it" alongside claims that he was just a SJW. The poster was quite confused (understandably so) since he never actually made any opinion as to whether or not it should be in the game, but most didn't seem to care. It's as if the mere mention of the word sets people off and all context gets ignored afterwords. I don't get it.

If he's asking about the sexuality of it he clearly know nothing or next to nothing about it. I can see how people would react in a negative manner to this particular situation because they may think that there will be lore added for purely social justice reasons. I can also understand where the asker is coming from as well... If only they started with basic questions and then lead into that one so they seemed genuinely interested, rather than a possible SJW.

There's nothing wrong with that. Why waste time learning about the general lore of a game if it doesn't have what they're looking for? So why shouldn't they cut straight to the point? By the sounds of how Isichar describes the situation I don't think the OP in this case was an SJW pushing an agenda, but I can't blame people for being on-edge or wary when someone brings up a political or social subject on a videogame forum. Personally I'm getting pretty fucking tired of SJWs trying to shit up my games and safe-spaces.

It would also be a good way to segway into the topic he wanted to know to begin with. As for the SJW thing, I never called the person a SJW. I just stated that others might misinterpret them as one depending on word use and phrasing. With how weird internet culture can be in both spectrums, I could see why the lashout happened.
