I will always try and beat a single player game the right way, but if I get stuck or can't pass a part that causes me too much frustration I will bring out a trainer and get past that area. I'll they play normally once past the area I got stuck. Well, games used to have cheat codes for that sort of thing, didn't they? Unfortunately, those cheat codes have been removed now in favour of microtransactions (why offer something for free when you can charge for it, right?). Personally, I don't see the harm in using a trainer in SP. However, I would suggest not abusing of it either because, as others have said, it might make gameplay a tad boring. To be honest, the time games came with built in cheat codes was also the time when games were fucking hard to beat. Today, you have very easy - easy - normal and hard settings and more often than not, normal is laughably easy and the actual easy difficulties more like "try to lose, we dare ya!".
