Machine gun for tanks in CnC? Bruh, you just broke the balance. Besides, doing the Squishy is more fun anyway: "Right of way, suckers!" Yessir, looks like it was a dropped feature in RA1, due to how well it works. The tanks would fire the main gun at other vehicles and buildings, and use the MG against infantry. And creating overpowered shit is what i usually did. Reminds me of R.U.S.E. ... tanks would SLAUGHTER infantry attacks due to having machinguns and HE shells and could simply reverse to keep long enough distance to kill insane numbers of infantry unless backed into untraversable terrain like forests or cities. Then again, a single cheap infantry unit could instant-route all but the heaviest tanks (unless they used satchel charges or the lolPIAT) and if attacking from concealed positions like a forest or within a city, would either OSK a tank instantly, or kill it with the second shot anyway, let alone elite infantry with Bazookas or even worse, the Panzerschreck which was just overkill against any armored vehicle from a concealed position. Good game, shame it was abandoned by the devs even though it still had a couple graphic glitches and minor balance issues (but the balance is still one of the better ones I've seen in such games). But I digress. I for one had a habit in the X series to play around in the script editor, plus with a couple mods like the MARS turret script, Mosquite Missile Defense and shipmods, once you got a fully equipped M7 or higher, it felt like cheating anyway. Then again, two-fully kitted out M2s with MARS plugin in a Xenon core sector = amazing lightshow.
