A picture: And some speculation: A while back I put forth a theory about Snoke's identity Snoke being Darth Vader (dark side of Anakin only) or Vader's body possessed and I still stand by it. As I've said before, the scars on his face match up perfectly and the deformation on one side of his face at his mouth can be interpreted to suggest that a mask or breathing apparatus of some sort had once been present there. Futhermore, there are a couple of moments in Episode 7 where his breathing seems somewhat uncharacteristically labored (or perhaps characteristically). Before I go on, one thing I will mention is that a hole is present in my theory and that is that height difference between the two. Snoke stands at (spoiler tagged because some might want his height to be a surprise) "around seven feet tall" while the other mentioned person was only 6 feet and 2 inches. Before I continue, I must reiterate that this is simply a theory and the following spoiler tagged post isn't necessarily accurate for the following leaked playset, but rather my interpretation of something in it. Therefore, this is still just a guess, and likely a wild one at that; not me having actual information on who Snoke is. Here is the playset: The red tubing in the picture reminds me, and others, of blood transfusions. I think receiving blood transfusions would make sense for something in a dead or dying body in a fantasy universe. I am guessing that Snoke is obsessed with immortality; he seems very Vampire inspired to me even - he likes to dress in gold robes and shoes; was allegedly handsome as a young man (according to Star Wars 7 Novel). Something funky is going on with Snoke's body at the very least. One thing I have come to ponder is the possibility that Snoke could be Plagueis who pulled a Voldemort and inserted a part of his consciousness into Anakin when he made him with the Force (Anakin's creation in the new canon remains ambiguous) and had it to where he could take over and reanimate Anakin were both to die. A way to cheat death and save himself, if you will. An ability of the dark side that many would consider to be unnatural. At the very least, Snoke has some huuuuuge link to Vader and/or Palpatine due to the following conversation: “Kylo Ren, I watched the Galactic Empire rise, and then fall. The gullible prattle on about the triumph of truth and justice, of individualism and free will. As if such things were solid and real instead of simple subjective judgments. The historians have it all wrong. It was neither poor strategy nor arrogance that brought down the Empire. You know too well what did.” Ren nodded once. “Sentiment.” "Yes. Such a simple thing. Such a foolish error of judgment. A momentary lapse in an otherwise exemplary life. Had Lord Vader not succumbed to emotion at the crucial moment—had the father killed the son—the Empire would have prevailed. And there would be no threat of Skywalker’s return today." Snoke was in the throne room on the Death Star II, had to be to know this. Palpatine had dismissed his Royal Guard to where there was only he, Luke and Vader in that room. I'm just saying, we know where Luke is and Palpatine would've made his return known (not to mention how lame his return would be). A possessed Vader Corpse or a Plagueis-Vader Combo would be the perfect way to up the threat and you'd still have the main films be the Story of Darth Vader. And that's my theory on who Snoke will turn out to be. My bet is on Snoke being one of those "clerics" you see briefly with Palpatine in episode VI. Or he could just be some ally we never saw in the movie. I don't think he is Vader, but he could be some weird clone of Palpatine. Snoke is not human though. He is some alien. One of those guys got thrown down a well of dark side energy on Jakku as part of a force ritual in one of the newer books, so it is definitely possible that he survived and reemerged as Snoke. Erf, I hope not. I don't want any more clones. I know it's been stated that he isn't human or Plagueis, but I'm not sure either of those statements would discount either of those possibilities. It could be argued that he's gone passed the point of being human because of the effect of the dark side on his body or gone beyond being Plagueis because he was succeeded by his apprentice via the rule of two, so cannot properly claim a Darth title anymore. I think that whatever Snoke was has been heavily mutated by the dark side.
