What makes Reddit better suited for you guys to go? Are people there just
nicer in general or what? Because it seems to me that you've got assholes like that everywhere you go on the internet. What makes Reddit less likely to have someone call you a corporate whore than the forums?
I only ask because I am nearly-daily accused of being a Bioware boot-licker because I spend an inordinate amount of time during my day on the forums defending you. Where do you suggest I go if I want to interact with not-stupid people? Keep fighting the good fight on the forums? lol.
Alright the reasons why I enjoy the format of reddit (and remember this is for me personally).
1) The topics that people are generally interested in will generally show more than likely instead of people randomly posting pictures in a "spam" chain that make it appear like it is a popular thread.
2) If someone is replying to me, I get notified and I know they are replying to me
3) The trolls are more likely to be filtered out, ie if they have below a threshold of score, they wont be seen unless I choose to
4) Even if you get the "circle-jerk" mentality the people who take the time to actually take the time to do it properly ie not "Your game sucks, because it isnt Witcher", will still get noticed.
5) I can inter-mix it with my other interests and it flows naturally. Lets say I am interested in photography on a single page I can see both Photography and Game comments because I can personalize the content how I want it to be.
6) With reddit gold, I can easily see what posts have been made since the last time I visited, while this is also the case with "last read" on the forums, I find the highlighting better for skipping certain "threads" that I am not interested in participating in.
Also note there is not a strong strong presence of devs on Reddit, right now I am pretty much the only real active one, with the exception of Allan who is seeing what it is is like (as of 2 days ago)
