Most people who catch it will not have their life threatened, and even among the fatalities it's more a worry for the elderly or very young children with under developed immune systems. That said it is a big deal and there's a reason it's now classified as a pandemic and countries are going into states of emergency, don't let the fact that it's minor for you underplay the damage this can actually cause and how quickly this can blow up, and keep in mind this virus is mutating quickly which means it can become even more dangerous and is hard to combat. People shouldn't be panicking but they should absolutely treat it seriously due to the trouble containing it.
