Note: Both Nixon and Clinton shouldn't have become presidents. Both have/had mental illness (different kinds though). FDR had polio... I don't think there is anything in the Constitution which says you have to be 100% healthy to hold the office. Just as long as you are not infirm. Also, having a mental illness is, by definition, not an impingement on the ability to do one's job. A mental disorder is. Seems like splitting hairs, but it's a huge distinction - mental illness affects millions of people worldwide. However, many are able to continue to go about their daily lives, completing jobs, tending to families and pursuing hobbies/interests, often suffering in silence. It is only when the illness progresses to levels where it interferes with their life in huge ways that it categorized as a mental disorder, which is sadly the point where people are first diagnosed. Yeah, concurred. I have anxiety problems, and shyness too (only in speaking!), still can do great works.
