It's good. Unfortunately, they made it huge and in so doing diluted what little story there was to begin with. I don't need every RPG to feature a humongous open world; I already get that from Bethesda's titles. When I play a BioWare RPG I'm more interested in the characters, their stories, and the overarching plot.
Still, it's not all bad. The different areas you can go to are beautiful and diverse (and I'm not even playing with Ultra settings), provided they're above-surface that is, unlike what we got in DA2. However, it didn't help that side quests have that MMO-ish feel, with your search for shards and the need to close portals the only real drive for exploring most of the map. At least in TW3 side quests feel special with their own little cutscenes what helps give more life to the characters (e.g.: the old woman looking for her pan). I feel like BioWare's choice to cut down on the number of cutscenes may have done more harm than good.
Also, Skyhold's wasted. They had all the pieces to create an incredible last stand in your castle where your repairs and additions could've slightly altered the outcome of the battle but what we got to play wasn't even close. In fact, I still can't grasp what went down at the end of the game or how, it seemed so incredibly rushed.
