What we're going to do for the last 15 issues is something no one's ever seen for the character. It's something that's going to change the character for a generation, or maybe more. Maybe forever. I never thought we'd get this kind of stuff approved; when you're working with a corporate character, you think you’re going to have to reset. But this is a change that's going to shake the world of Batman and it's going to leave my mark on the character. So that's coming. (Laughs.) All I have to do is land it. Looks like Tom King won't be able to land at all. It strikes me as odd that they would take him off the series with only 15 issues to go. I'd say the damage's already done by this point. I think I've read the first 5 or 6 volumes of his run and found them to be pretty average overall. And then there's the whole debacle with the wedding. That's the point I gave up.

King kills someone. I wish that were the biggest insult but no, the biggest insult is how dumb and boring his writing remains. The question at this point is no longer whether Batman will recover from Bane, but whether he'll recover from King. What was DC thinking?
