Oh yeah lol I forgot, nobody actually posts here. So much for that...

Every time I come close to becoming a fan of Elizabeth Warren, she does something that reminds me why I'm not much of one, and why she's always second-fiddle to Bernie.
Credit where it's due, she's been floating lots of really good policy ideas lately, even beating Bernie to the punch on a lot of these issues (student loan debt being a big one). That, and she has said she's not in favor of bringing back the filibuster, whereas Bernie's answer has suggested that he's (at best) unwilling or (at worst) wants to bring it back. Both of them will obviously have a hard time getting much passed through Congress, so I don't know why he'd want to gimp himself by doing so (maybe he thought that that was the "politically correct" answer -- compromise, work with all sides of the aisle, and other such crap).
I was honestly re-thinking if maybe I should have her ahead of him, but she recently made a big moral stand about turning down a town hall on Fox News, and it's stuff like this that keeps me from really being more of a supporter.
She said that Fox News is a hate-for-profit network, platforming racists and conspiracy theorists in ways that divide the people among themselves and overlook the corruption that takes place in Washington.
Her assessment of Fox News is correct. It's also irrelevant. Fox News may be hurting from advertisers leaving in droves, but they're not going anywhere. They are one of a select few companies that basically have a monopoly on TV news. No amount of boycotting from people who aren't part of their target audience anyway is going to change the fact that they are primetime TV with millions of people tuning in (and the #1 network in the country most years).
And I just read that something like 33% of their viewers identify as Independent or Dem-leaning. That's a lot of viewers to make hay with.
Besides, if what she says is true, why not interrupt their usual programming with someone with a different, better viewpoint and de-radicalize however many people you can reach?
So it's just a squandered opportunity by her here, and makes me question if she has the strategic thinking to win the Gen Elec, and I already have a few other concerns about her. I try not to get stuck on the electability factor the way some take it TOO seriously, because the politics aspect is much more important, but it's still a factor that has to be weighed, and can be a deciding one when there are others who are ideologically close to her.
*edit* holy ish I didn't realize how long this post was until posting. Well we're stuck with it now.
