I can't help feeling like the best thing that could happen to the Democrats at this point would be if Scott Walker won in 2016, and fucked things up so badly that the Democrats sweep the state legislatures in 2018 and change the districts to something less favorable to the Republicans in 2020.

Oh yeah, that guy who looks kinda like a Lego figure of a vampire? Yeah, I saw him in the Canadian debates. Because Fox News made sure it would be all but impossible to watch the first Republican debate online, and I could just stream the Canadian debate on YouTube for free. I didn't like him as much as the other Canadian party leaders, but I liked him more than most people running for president in the US? I'd have to follow him more to get a better impression of him.

If i was American, I'd give my vote to Joe Biden if he runs. If he doesn't, Then my vote goes to Bernie Sanders. Though a Trump presidency would be the funniest weirdest thing to ever happen in American history. It's highly unlikely though that he'll even get the nomination, Which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

As for Dermain's A.K.A Lorn's post, Yeah, I agree, Hilary made a mistake running this time amid all the controversy of her e-mails. I surely wouldn't vote for her because of the same reasons and i thought she'd be smart enough to avoid running and deal with the all the controversy surrounding her time as a secretary of state first, In order not to give the GOP a key to downgrade her popularity. The whole campaign will be just a waste of money for her, And trust me, A presidential bid isn't cheap, I have seen the numbers. But what i can say, Politicians are dumb. Sanders carries the most heat right now, He's the most outspoken, Reasonable person on the roaster and he might even win over Biden if Biden keeps stalling as he's doing right now.

In all seriousness, I support Bernie Sanders as the candidate that has the most in common with my own views.

Having had to dig out my old Stata programs and analysis book to look for a correlation between outpouring for events and rally's compared to success in the polls, I rather think he isn't going to have much of a shot, unless Biden jumps in as a compromise candidate (which he would do if Hillary had another faux pas or scandal come to light). 

Bernie has a populist surge that he's capitalizing on, but at the end of the day, I don't think it's going to be able to take on Hillary's juggernaut. 

I don't the Republicans have anything of actual value to give to the U.S. at this point. I talked to most of my analysis instructors about it, and they're certain that Trump isn't likely to pull any kind of leadership in long term polls. People like him because he's loud and (superficially) pointing out flaws in the system that are degraded in rhetoric to exploit a paradigm that relies on the assumption that most problems in this country can be solved by a boisterous businessman who attacks issues as they come by throwing money or the military at it.
