The endings were as expected, I think we all knew it would end that way. While I would have liked for a better ending with a unique take on time travel, I still really enjoyed this. The surreal nightmare section was great too! Also, I liked how the game tracked and referenced little decisions throughout. If you flirted with Chloe throughout and didn't kiss Warren, then there is also a rather sweet romantic kiss between her and Max (only If you sacrifice Chloe for some reason). While we could argue that the endings render everything done meaningless, I think otherwise, at least in part. The journey always was to solve the Rachel mystery, which Max does thanks to Chloe, bringing an end to the abuse at Blackwell (obviously it's Max who brings Jefferson down after the sacrifice), and the picture of Max surrounded by her pictures suggests to me that she goes back to the art exhibition as the winner of the contest. I honestly think that the save Chloe ending was rushed in as it became evident that nobody wanted Chloe to die. The endings did leave me feeling hollow, Max feels so alone in one (more so if Max was romantically involve with Chloe, especially as Chloe has no recollection of our adventure at the time of her death), and so selfish and guilty in another. I also can't help feeling hugely sorry for Joyce more than anyone.
Overall, a wonderful game with a irritating ending. Still the best episodic game on the market, and one of my favourite recent games. I honestly really like the school/college theme that we don't see enough in Western games .
