Who would it help? And who should they say it too? Again, it is the presumption that generally all muslims condone's these attacks that is the problem. They need to be invited into the political debate, not be apologists for something they have nothing to do with. If I were a muslim I would feel downright hurt, not just because people commit these awful acts in the name of a religion I beleive in, but also because my fellow citizens feel that I as a muslim have a special obligation. It is absurd.
It is not Islam that is brainwashing these people, it is the actions of these extremists that does, same with Breivik.
Yes. Get muslim leaders into debates and all kinds of stuff. Let them be heard. Counter the arguments and the brainwashing the extremists are using at every turn.

Yes it is Islam that is brainwashing people, in the sense that the Koran and verses from it is being used as the main arguments for extremism. It is the same kind of nutcase religious brainwashing we had in Europe a few centuries ago.
Breivik didn't brainwash anyone, though. He went solo. Nobody has followed his nazi actions later on either. His actions didn't spark a hint of the "revolution" he was trying to make happen.
