I guess Assad and Russia are winning. Beyond that it's hard to tell with all the hacky propaganda journalism going on. Skeptical of a lot of claims without evidence parroted in western media from certain rebel faction sources who are basically al Qaeda.
And stuff like this, passing off images from music videos or Israel's bloodbaths in Gaza as being from Syria.
Somehow I doubt our media will have the same apoplectic fits over 'fake news on social media' that targets our geopolitical adversaries.
But I'm sure if we just drop more bombs, but the freedom kind, and give more weapons to terrorists when they align against our adversaries then the lives of everyday Syrians will improve.
All that being said, propaganda or no, I don't think it's really in dispute that Assad and Russia aren't exactly discriminating in their bombings, which are responsible for the large majority of the deaths in Syria. But until there is an alternative that doesn't involve brinkmanship with a nuclear power and empowering more crazy fundamentalists, and doing so largely not for humanitarian but economic imperialist reasons (see pipeline disputes in Syria) I don't know if there's a good answer to that situation though.
