Well the song was just dumb, but it gets its points across and what he did say is true. The way we talk about rape is important to our efforts in preventing it, and obviously the way we've gone about it has been not-so-effective when you still have assholes playing the blame game.

Because of that I would not say no to the idea of teenage girls being taught self defense, and how to fight back if attacked, and such.

Bugger the cops they can't always be there on time so yeah self defense classes.

Well as Puddi said, it's an effort to alter the culture. No one in this video ever thought that rape was suddenly going to disappear by saying 'stop it', yet it's important to keep on saying 'stop it' for posterity. And it's not like these efforts to change it are new or have come to nothing. Rape in current discourse has gone from something you could freely do to your wife to one of the most (and rightly so) deplorable and immoral acts of human violation.

Simply providing tools to combat the assault will not cull the cause. Killing every murderer on the planet isn't going to suddenly stop the coming of new murderers. The same goes with any crime really.
