What do people think of privatisation, and how governments try to sell it all the time as a good thing? Over here where I live we used to have state run electricity, gas, and water services under the banner of the E&WS.... When we had that everything was billed like it is now but the rates were fixed so no one got price gouged, an everyone paid the same kind of rates depending on the kind of property they owned.. Seemed like a very fair system at the time. Then in the late 80s or 90s I think one of our state premiers here where I lived really put the hard sell on privatising all that, and how it would mean cheaper prices for households. Of course the reality of it was that that never, ever happened. He sold the state a lie big time and skipped town and left government soon after the change. I wonder why? So anyway opinions? I think it's bad enough already that most Americans can't get public broadband.
