Threads for individual franchises are fine. Can't say I liked the one that I watched, but I was young and apparently its satirical nature flew right by me. You are not alone. Most people dismiss all 3 movies and seem to not get the satire that Verhoven was going for. Even Heinlen to an extent was making a point about politics and government in a period when communism was scaring people to near hysteria and we had things like McCarthy who played on people's fears. That's the period the novel was written in. The thing is I'd urge people to go get the book. It's much better then the movies as the films deviate quite a lot from the source material.
