Decided to sit for a couple of minutes and watch and that was enough to convince me to go watch a movie instead. How in the hell do people sit through one of these things? It sounded like a bunch of trollops all chatting away on top of each other.. Then when the pretty boy walks in they all hush on cue all together... What exactly is the appeal here? I imagine the Bachelorette is the same format with 12 desperate men for one woman. Or are they all just wanna be actors and models looking for fame? I am very sorry if you like it but I just do not get the appeal.

Then she became The Bachelorette? I know her. She went to law school with my husband. I couldn't even sit through her seasons and I had a real interest in watching it. I managed a few scenes here and there and some of the final episodes. It's more fun to talk about than it is to actually watch it. Husband listens to lots of pop culture podcasts from The Ringer (Bill Simmons new network after ESPN fired him and retained Grantland) and he gets loads of reality tv updates from that and passes on the good stuff. It's great. I get all of the hilarious faux drama and the best gossip without having to sit through the program.

Yeah but can you find out how much of the actual show is actual stuff and how much is what the producers put in there just to make a show? Watching the bits I did when I posted it just felt like there was a lot of padding to fill the time and stuff just seemed to be what the producers told people to do just to make a good show.

But we have had one or two couples at the end of both series that have managed to stay together for real. Boggles the mind why and how, but there you have it. Yes I'm sure 99% of the show is what the producers make happen. It's like TV news I go by the motto "believe 50% of what you see, and almost none of what you hear."

The drama in an art semester of college I was in was as fraught with conflict, breakdowns and violent rages as a reality show. We had three students (myself included) and a teacher break down and cry in front of a class. When you do projects, you're digging into some really personal psychological stuff as well as piling it onto some deadlines that push for all nighters. (Knew there were some red flags when the tour guide offhandedly mentioned that the security kicks you out at midnight, though it's more common for students to be there as late as 2 am).
