Elhanan is most certainly a shill. He would criticize certain behaviors of Blizzard or Ubisoft and then ruthlessly defend EA for something similar in nature. I know some full out 'Bioware can do no wrong' biodrones or 'I will disagree for the sake of disagreeing' trolls (david). The biodrones are a dying breed. But Elhanan is most definitely a shill. Huge reversals of stance based on company, only has a lot to say about the most recently released product, and ALWAYS eats up PR bullshit - "DA2 critics are bigots," "ME3's Ending was artistic vision and that ok," "ME3's ending critics are entitled," and so on. Its easy to tell because he has virtually no opinions of his own. He's not getting money from them. I wanted to be mean and make a bible thumper joke but meh. His latest endlessly repeated line is "Can't blame the devs for leaving a toxic forum" but before that he refused to listen to BroJo, ignored him and implied that he wanted to hear from a real dev. "An Open Letter to Bioware Regarding Explicit Content" thread in the ME:A forums, if you want to see the misery. I recommend staying away from it though. Better for your sanity. (That comment in that thread earned me a 48h suspension.^^) The problem isn't that he's defending BioWare, he's defending his own position... even if he has none. He never has ideas on his own, he picks up something he hears and then defends it beyond all reason, even if the original poster hasn't been heard of in weeks. The amazing part is where he does so completely without arguments, without even trying to have a discussion. He has his stance and he'll repeat it ad nauseum until everyone else gives up and he wins. Since he can spend 10+ hours in the forums every day, he can afford it. Not to mention that he puts everyone on ignore who disagrees with him. He often writes in a passive-aggressive, condescending and vaguely insulting way that's almost enough to be against the rules, but somehow never is. If he manages to frustrate you so much you lash out, he'll instantly report you to the mods to get you suspended. He himself is of course the good guy. He's the misunderstood hero, the oracle everyone ignores. He's the moral man, standing firm against the onslaught of profanity. And if even that doesn't work, he'll play the health card. Stroke, cancer, disabled, unable to type properly... the list is growing. What really gets me though is that in any other forum guys like him get warned or suspended for derailing threads, spamming and non-constructive posts. Only on BSN he's safely hiding behind the forum rules and BioMods. /end rant ^^ |
