Read Amane's route in Grisaia It did a few things the other routes didn't do whilst definitely hanging on to everything the rest of it did so well in the first place. Quite horrifying too mind, the Angelic Howl sequence is waaay out there even by Grisaia standards of messed up. Perhaps even more so by just how... kinda obvious it all is. Most of what happens is masterfully foreshadowed, with only tiny hints being required to bring the audience (or at least me) to the unfortunate but disturbingly forthcoming presumptions of just what people are capable of in such awful situations. It didn't hit quite as hard as say Sachi's or Michiru's per se, if only because it was just that horrifying and I don't have any grounds for comparison.
Yikes.
The content following that sequence made for a less obvious and perhaps shorter conclusion than the other routes, but no less satisfying. Whereas with the other two there was a lot about 'fixing' the girl's respective situation, the focus here was more on moving forward. Because hey, that wasn't really something anyone was ever going to truly walk away from, and I appreciate that the VN didn't try to string it along as such.
And move forward it did! That epilogue was just the best, and something the route (so far) has all of its own. Suzune, with I like to think a little bit of Makina in her, and Makina herself turning up a couple of times were just wonderful, and Amane and Yuuji are naturally adorable together, with the epilogue very much cementing that fact. Great stuff, as always.
Onto Makina's herself next!
