I uh. Yeah. I didn't like it. The Prologue felt really tacked on and added nothing to the story. Not helped by the fact it was boring. Who the fuck was Barabara narrating to anyway? I thought the movie would end with a scene with her talking to Black Canary or something. But nope. Just narration for narrations sake. The Prologue just served to make Barbara an unlikeable character. I didn't feel the feels I should've felt when The Joker shot her.
Both Kevin and Mark sounded off in this. Like they were phoning it in. The Joker makes some of the best speeches in the history of the character in The Killing Joke, but I didn't get anything from it. No chills, no goosebumps. And considering Mark Hamill has gotten that reaction from me in the DCAU and Arkham, it's kinda sad. This was his dream to make this movie.
DC's animated films are just mediocre or bad now. Flashpoint was the last really great one.
It's just another bad adaptation of an Alan Moore book. Like Watchmen, like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. What else is there to say?
