First Person Shooter the movie. This seems like a fun film. I might check it out.
I have thought to myself "wouldn't it be awesome to have an entire film in first person". Now that film actually exists. So that is just plain awesome. I know I wasn't the first to think of this idea, though I can imagine many film makers wanting to avoid this. First person camera leads to a lot of shaky camera which is a gripe many people have with found footage films. Also you'd have to re-shoot several scenes because the actor wasn't looking in the right direction.
I was hoping that the protagonist's wife would play a bigger part than being a damsel in distress. Just to make it clear. I don't view this trope as sexist. I just find it a little dull (with some exceptions). I might do a thread dedicated to situations when I found the damsel in distress trope exciting.
Still, both trailers look awesome. The first person adds a certain feeling of frenetic action, making the viewer feel like the protagonist. I also like first person view because we can't see everything. There could be something behind our hero or something to the right or left of the hero that we can't see. We see a lot of action, though some of the action is left to the imagination. That's probably why the protagonist Hardcore Henry doesn't speak.
This could be a really funny satire on video games.
