Almost exactly 8 years ago. Yes. There is a sequel to Cloverfield coming out. This March in fact. 10 Cloverfield Lane. And it looks nothing like Cloverfield. At all. Compare the above trailer to Cloverfields. It has John Goodman in it though. Who is an impressive Kaiju and all, but not what I was expecting. Genuinely I don't know how to feel about this, because it's just so different that how I thought a Cloverfield sequel would be. But hey, 2016 now has a quadrilogy of Kaiju films out this year. 2 Japanese and 2 American. So that's a good thing at least.

It ends with the military completely leveling Manhattan to kill the monster. The Prequel Manga on the other hand did. But I seem to be the only one that remembers it.

And they only slapped on the Cloverfield name for Marquee value. Which is disappointing and a little aggravating.

And he has the Cloverfield-Monster in his closet? Or is that door leading to the hidden realm of the Askani? (if you get this reference than I feel sorry for your soul ...) And JJ Abrams directed or produced it? Which means one will not get any answers to the above questions until the movie is out, hm? I'll wait for the spoiler-reviews then ...
