Have you heard about public masturbaters? They're the worst.

Like that article says, there are already sex segregated train cars in some countries.

Generally don't like the assumption it makes about male train car passengers, which they don't put a fine point on at all by calling it a 'safe' car, or the possible side effects or slippery slope of segregating public spaces in such a way in general. But apparently sexual assault on train cars was a pretty big epidemic in Japan. That being the case I wouldn't glibly dismiss it as some SJW solution in want of a problem.

If anything it feels more like paternalism with a veneer of feminism.

I hate the SJWs. They are the group of people I hate the most right after religious extremists.

Social Justice is a toxic term now. Those who want to better mankind progressively need to re-brand themselves and condemn those who practice social justice.

Isn't that their advice to anyone whose like "Not All ____"? Re-brand and condemn the people you're part of? Personally, it might be high time they do so themselves.

I feel everybody needs a safe-train down there. Walk down to the store there and you're ambushed by a spider dinosaur and its entire family.

Or worse.

Actual Australians.

Way to enforce stereotypes of female femininity. Was the pink really necessary? Do you need to add  a bunch of other 'girly' things, too? Y'know, just to let us lads know that the train's definitely just for girls, right?

It really just screams 'women are fragile lillies that need protection since they obviously cannot defend themselves'.

And the sad thing is, that half of it is true. Women do get assaulted on a regular basis. But then, so do men.

Of course, since we're men, we're all trained by our Da's at an early age to chew tobacco, beat up thugs, and take baseball bats to the face. Us dudes are fine.  

But then statistics and all that... ugh, it's a complicated feeling.

Should I be against this for its sexism and compromise the safety of women in the future? Or should I put aside my ideals and be in favour for something that takes a step back for any further developments to gender equality in the future?

And even then, what's to say men are the only threat to a woman's safety at night? I'm willing to bet any number of female crooks would jump at the opportunity this gives 'em.

So what's my solution?

Just increase security personnel.  If you're that concerned for public security, then doing this is more effective than lumping a bunch of women in a haven that might potentially threaten them even more in the end to begin with.

I'd vouch for this segregation in countries whose patriarchy is positively medieval, and if the problem became way out of hand.

Overall it's a nice thought, but it really doesn't work.

Yeah, but then you have problems with people going late to work etc etc. Too much outrage and not enough trains to compensate for the amount of people you can get in one.

Then again, what's 'crowded'?

Is it shoulder-to-shoulder squashed or is it 'dude your sweat is dripping on my shirt' squashed? xD

I'd say a Kougami per carriage.

Then everybody would be too busy with those abs to drool over anything else.

Security sometimes are the ones doing the assaulting themselves, at least talking about cops and that one in the news who used his authority to prey on poor black women. And a person limit on trains would probably be unworkable with the amount of people that need to be moved by public transit in these big cities, especially in a place like Japan.

But I don't care about Australia's shitty trains, I came to talk about honest Abe's favorite topic these days, cultural appropriation. Since I've seen that angle being used with regard to the Scarlett Johansson Ghost in the Shell movie that has been in the news again lately.



I guess it's nothing we didn't know about for a while, but now that all the plebs are talking about it you get the SJW language injected into it. And I think the reflexive anti-SJW reaction in these parts to agreeing with an SJW but not the terminology would be no, the movie's just gonna suck because it sucks, not because you've appropriated an inherently Japanese story onto a white main character, but Hollywood cultural appropriation may arguably be one of the more prominent actual examples of the thing as it's part of a tool that propagates culture to the masses and isn't just some guy wearing dreadlocks.
