Alec Guinness was a dick to Star Wars fans. That's ok. He gave us (arguably) one of the greatest characters in the entire Saga. Not to mention other actors who don't exactly "embrace" the fans; i.e. Natalie Portman, David Prowse, Carrie Fisher, Denis Lawson, Hayden Christensen, Kiera Knightley, Anthony Daniels, etc Natalie Portman claimed that the prequels had a negative effect on her career, Keira Knightley had a bit part (I didn't even know she was in the fucking film until you just mentioned it), and prequels derailed Christensen's acting career. It's understandable why these people might not be crazy about anything to do w/ Star Wars. In Knightley's case, she seems to fancy herself a thespian, hence class side ring herself too good for Star Wars. I mean, Patrick Stewart was a Shakespearean actor, but he totally embraced his role as captain. Being a part of Star Wars and negotiating 2.25% of the director's gross made him wealthy later on, and afforded him the luxury to live a debt-free life while being selective about the roles he's offered. I really have trouble looking up to actors who treat a portion of their fanbase like untouchable plebs. Seriously, fuck them.
