That's how it goes, for me at least, when I listen to music. I have my radio playing (FM radio, Sirius XM, Spotify, what-have-you), then a song catches my attention, and then in some cases I make a note of the group that played it and discover more awesome music after I look them up. Next thing I know, I've found my latest obsession, and the infatuation goes on for months as I dig deep and take a listen to almost everything produced by the artist(s) on my radar.

Hence, this thread. This is where I will post music by the latest artist(s) I'm currently infatuated with, and all are invited to do the same.


Last week today, former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland passed away. Since sometime at the beginning of the year, I have been on a real STP kick, and have gotten into Velvet Revolver a bit as well. I would go so far as to say STP is my #1 now. And when I speak of my love for STP, it's really a love for Scott Weiland, because he is what really made that band as far as I'm concerned. None of the other three strike me as exceptional talents. And as something of an aspiring performer myself, I really came to idolize Scott, at least on an ideal-level (he was markedly inconsistent, it's the Scott that was on his game that I came to admire).

I'm still very much on my STP Scott Weiland kick. I'm still discovering more good music by them, and by other groups Weiland played in. Still, it is kind of sad because I had been following Scott Weiland's Facebook page and it always brightened my day a bit to see an update from his end. Now he's not with us. Damn shame.
