How do you feel about it?
To me it's a minor issue. I don't care either way and can still enjoy stories. But to some the mere notion of their favourite characters swapping genders makes them angry.
Take for example the debacle over Thor in the comic books..
Now Doctor Who, is the most recent one with a scene where a Timelord is shot by the Doctor and regenerates into a woman. The general was previously male but when shot his body regenerated into a woman. But prior to being male she was a woman before...
In Doctor Who when Timelords approach the death of a body or injuries that can't be fixed by other means they can regenerate their whole body into a new form.
Recently a small section of fans have been very vocal about not doing this to the Doctor but I can't see the problem. I'd love it to happen, even for just one or two episodes just to rub the vocal fans up the wrong way for a while.
Hey crybabies you might like it.
People don't seem to realize though Timelords look humanoid that's only what we see. It may not even be their true form. In City Of Death an artist is doing a picture of Romana and instead of her face he sees a clock. So they must project something around them...
