Pence's manners are certainly more easy to tolerate. But you're right, he'd support the same things. It's almost like Pence and Trump are playing good cop, bad cop with the public sometimes. Also I get the impression that Pence is envious of Trump's ability to say just about anything and get away with it. I remember him expressing admiration for that very quality during the campaign.
