The "Its fantasy! Everything is allowed!" argument. Its the dumbest argument out there, really. And it is also kick in the face to those people who actually spend months on creating magic systems, lore, the gameworld, and whatnot to make it feel unique. This. Any universe has its own set of rules created by the developers, writers, etc., and the narrative (gameplay as well in the case of games) must be consistent with these rules. If you break them whenever you face a problem, I can't really invest myself in the story, can I? E.g.: lyrium constantly being used to explain everything in the DA games. Exactly. The gameworld and the lore is the framework for the story. If it starts getting more and more deep cracks in it, it isn't solid anymore and crumbles.
